Help & FAQ

The short answers first.

Everything you need to set up your booth and get the most out of ShowTrail — organized by what you're working on. Still stuck? We're a message away.

Onboarding & getting started

Get your booth page live, then improve it when you're ready.

Do I have to finish everything before my booth page goes live?

No. Your business can start with an instant presence. As soon as you confirm your profile, your booth page is live — you don't need to complete every step first, and you can keep improving it later.

What do attendees see when they find my business?

Open User preview from the top-right corner of your dashboard to see your booth page exactly as attendees do. Attendees only ever see your completed sections — any prompt asking you to add something (a product, an engagement, a stay-in-touch block) is just for you and never appears to them until you fill it in.

I don't have a logo ready. What happens?

If there's no logo on file, we show a simple monogram from your business initials. We never invent a logo for you. You can upload your real one any time from Brand & assets, and it updates everywhere.

What should I set up first after onboarding?

Three things make your page work harder: add an engagement, showcase your products, and add a stay-in-touch block. Start with whichever matters most for this show — none of them are required to go live.

Where do I land when onboarding is done?

Your dashboard. From there you can add your first engagement or jump into any section. If you'd rather start an engagement right away, the “Add your first engagement” link opens the wizard so you can pick a type.

Creating engagements

Giveaways, coupons, and stay-in-touch — set up now, decide later.

What is an engagement?

It's a way for attendees to interact with your business: a giveaway, a coupon, or a stay-in-touch opt-in. Each one helps people find you, interact in the moment, and — if you choose — share their details so you can follow up.

Do I have to decide what to buy when I set one up?

No. Set it up now and decide later what you'd like to buy. You only pay for the connections you choose to buy, and nothing is charged at setup. No commitment required.

How long does setup take?

A few minutes. Giveaways and coupons are five short steps; stay-in-touch is four. You tell us the prize, the deal, or the message, and we help build the rest.

Can I require attendees to visit my booth?

Yes. Turn on “Require booth visit” and attendees scan at your booth to enter a giveaway, unlock a coupon, or opt in. Leave it off and they can take part from anywhere in the app.

When does my engagement go live?

You choose. “Start today” goes live now so attendees can find and save your business before doors open. “During the show only” keeps it within the show dates. You can adjust the exact start and end dates either way.

Will attendees see an engagement I've saved as a draft?

No. Attendees only ever see published engagements. In your own User preview you'll see all of them — including drafts — so you can check how each one will look, but a draft stays private to you until you publish it.

Can I reuse settings from a past engagement?

Yes. If you've created one of the same type before, you can pre-fill the event, booth entry, connection fields, and privacy links, then adjust what's different. Your prize or offer details and listing content always start fresh.

Can I change the connection fields after it's live?

You can narrow what you collect, but never widen it — fields can't be added once an engagement is live, because attendees only consent to the fields configured at setup. So include everything you might want up front.

Adding products

Search, add to a draft, link to an event, and save.

How do I add products?

Search your catalogue by brand name, add the items you want to a draft, then choose an event and save. Paste an Amazon link or ASIN and we auto-fill the name, title, and value for you.

What if my product isn't on Amazon?

Use “Add product manually” below the search results. You enter the name, title, and value yourself, and it joins your draft like any other product.

How many products can I show?

Up to 8 product slots per event. The counter in the header shows how many you've used, so you always know how much room is left.

Can I see how a product looks to attendees?

Yes. The preview shows exactly how your product appears in the ShowTrail app — image, name, price, and buy button — before you save anything.

Can I use the same products across events?

Yes. When you link products to an event, tick “Add to all future events,” or pick one specific show. You can reorder products in your draft before saving.

Connections

Turn show attention into lasting customer connections — pay only for what you buy.

What is a connection?

When an attendee enters a giveaway, redeems a coupon, or opts in to stay in touch, they consent to share the details you configured. That's a connection — someone who found you at the show and is open to hearing from you afterward.

When do I pay for connections?

Never at setup. You buy the connections you want later from your Connections page, and you only pay for the ones you choose. You can buy some, all, or none.

What do attendees agree to share?

Exactly the fields in the bundle you set up — pre-filled from their ShowTrail profile, plus any new fields you ask for. They can see and agree to every field, your privacy policy, and your terms before taking part.

What are eligibility sets?

A reusable rule that limits who can take part — by gender, country, province or state, child's age, due date, and more. Build a set once on the Eligibility page and reuse it across any engagement.

Can I control who's eligible?

Yes. By default every attendee is eligible. Switch to an eligibility set when you want to narrow it — for example, parents in a certain province with a child under two.

Why don't I see any activity yet?

There's nothing to show until people start finding and interacting with your business. Once attendees save your profile and take part in your engagements, their activity appears here.

Brand & assets

Upload your logo, banner, icon, colors, and images in one place.

What can I upload?

Your primary logo, a banner, and an icon as your core brand set, plus any number of images and documents in your asset library. These are reused across your booth page and engagements.

What sizes work best?

Primary logo: PNG or SVG, at least 200px. Banner: 1920 × 480 recommended. Icon: square, at least 128px. We keep your image in proportion rather than cropping it.

How do I upload an asset?

Open Brand & assets from the left menu, then drag a file straight onto the slot, or click anywhere in the zone to browse. There's no dropdown or URL step — the drop zone handles it.

How do brand colors work?

Add a color by entering a hex value, or pick from the suggestions drawn from your brand. Each color shows as a swatch you can remove any time, and they help your booth page match your look.

Where do my assets get used?

Your logo appears on your booth page and as the sponsor mark on your engagements. We only ever use the real logo you upload — never a generated one. If nothing's on file, attendees see a monogram instead.
